Oh man. I'm glad you had a good first day, and I don't want to kill your buzz or anything, but in my experience - library school? Did not equal good people. What it did equal was dudes with no social skills who got off on being the only penises in the room and girls who read nothing but manga and romance novels about falling in love with dukes. But maybe it'd different where you go? :) Here's hoping!

I just have to tell you (after numerous Strongbows) that I was thinking of you today when I hit an estate sale that was a total bust--because the kitchen appliances were all from the 50s and they were PINK. Pink sink basin, pink oven (up high), pink range (countertop only), pink refrigerator. You would have died. Too bad none of the kitchen accoutrements matched the appliances.

I vote yes on Mr. Fancy Cumberland Embroidered Styles for Ladies. That is surely a no-brainer, slam-dunk, home-run, grand-slam idea. You really knocked one out of the park!

Mmmm, GOOD POST. It is so good paying for stuff with free money, isn't it? I'm taking credits this summer for the first time in two years, and suddenly my job has been converted into a grad assistantship with tuition benefits (and health insurance, just as my health insurance ran out). My parents have said all along that they would pay for my thesis, but it thrills me to my bones to say "thank you so much, but you can use that $3000 for yourselves." Sometimes timing is so miraculous. Also, totally envious of your teen TV/movie class, and will buy the diary when it comes out!

Congratulations on the scholarship, smart girl! I'm glad you got the onesie; I mailed it on my lunchbreak and I was afraid that my handwriting on the envelop was so atrocious that it might not make it. Have a lovely time in Vancouver.

I really hate to admit this--I mean, really--but I shed a little tear when the Hippies won. Sure, they were sort of annoying, but compared to the Frat Boys? Gods among men.

I'm with you on Crash. Ham-fisted and histrionic. SO bad! Anyway, happy season of summertime BBQs to you, Miss K.

Hooray! Congratulations on the job, and the awesome day. By the way, we bought a couple of copies of Dear Spam when we were in Vancouver last weekend. We do love the spams.
